THE IMIBALA TRUSTThe Imibala Trust is a registered South African NPO which provides support to children affected by impoverished circumstance. Imibala’s Learner Advancement Department offers various support programmes where learners are given access to the following Green Shoots programmes: Maths Curriculum Online (MCO) is available for grades 3-7, it allows learners to practise their maths and work towards mastery (of their weekly maths CAPS mapped exercises). The Grade 7 learners use the Maths Curriculum Navigator, a maths-focused online program which guides them to their individual learning goals in the Senior Phase Maths Curriculum. |
THE BLUE JAY TRUSTThe Blue Jay Trust provides educational after care centres for the children whose parents work on Timberlea, Bosrivier, CedarFruit, Pruimboskloof & Welgemoed Farms. A media centre and facilitator on each farm site supplement the facilities and education provided at schools. Facilitators assist and encourage the learners with working on the same weekly CAPS mapped exercises that they have been doing at school using Maths Curriculum Online (MCO). Both learners and facilitators are able to view real-time progress and the MCO resources. Learners are also given the opportunity to practice their mental maths using the online Quick Quest program. |
THE GATHERING HOMEWORK CLUBThe Gathering Homework Club provides after school support to learners living in the Firgrove suburb in the City of Cape Town. The club's maths and technology project supports the National school based curriculum and gives learners the opportunity to practise their maths and work towards mastery. Learners work on the same weekly CAPS mapped exercises that they have been doing at school using Maths Curriculum Online (MCO). Learners can view their results immediately, this allows facilitators to monitor real-time feedback to assist, encourage and provide targeted support. Learners are also given the opportunity to practice their mental maths using the online Quick Quest program. |
